Observing the resistance in yourself - power of now

I have been practicing the power of now for some time and it is an ongoing transformation that you have to undertake. Living in the present moment is not something you can just switch on. It is a continuous learning curve that has to be nurtured with respect and powered by perserverance. I love practicing the power of now it is a great truth and wise way to live.

In our world there is one thing every human has in common : We all want to be happy, we want happiness and love. Love and happiness are the two things that keep us going as a human race. Every person finds happiness in different ways. Some might favour money to make them happy others might favour respect or love. No matter what your happiness might be, you strive to get it.

Observing the resistance in yourself requires a sound mind, a willingness to learn and to live in the ever present now. To be happy we must all try and resist the urge to be unhappy. The urge to be unhappy is present in all of us because we have certain attachments to past pain and emotional distress. Observe the peculiar pleasure you derive from being unhappy. This peculiar pleasure is the reason we resist happiness. When we intentionally sabotage our happiness we are craving our peculiar pleasures.

The resistance will cease if you make it conscious. Meaning that if you observe yourself sabotaging your own happiness you will realise it and immediately stop because you would have brought it out into the light of the present. No negativity can be when it is put into the light of the present.

Your pain has become a part of you, it has become part of your identity and this is the reason it is difficult to stay in a happy state. As long as you make an identity for yourself out of the pain, you cannot become free of it. If your pain is part of your identity you will subconsciously resist and sabotage any attempt you make to heal that pain.
